I have satellite internet and it seems slow. Usually if no computers on its pretty good, but when my brothers watching movies its really slow. I would love to switch, but being 14 and my parents refusing to go through the hassle and because they like satellite tv. i also have a old modem that is connected to a router. I don't know if it's satellite internet or if its because its the modem. Is there a way to get faster internet speed because when downloading my speed is like 35kb/s - 65kb/s.

That is a weak speed even for satellite. I also recommend you upgrade your package and you can get higher speeds from your ISP. But, the satellite is always going to lag. Have you done some cost comparisons for other services in your area. It might not be that much more if you unbundled the cost that is included in the cable billing.
